Has anyone mentioned Ogletree's Market? The one in Dunwoody was always crowded with 'Dunwoody Housewives'...

"How can you spot the Dunwoody Housewife at a funeral?...

She's the one in the black tennis dress." Ba-dum-bum!

We had an Ogletree's in East Cobb on Sandy Plains Rd when I was a kid in the 1970s-80s. I liked the store, but it was a little weird in that it had green carpet on much of the floor. Carpeted grocery stores -- ahh, so '70s. The whole shopping center had that great 70s facade of diagonal cedar planks. That cedar-contempo thing is a nostalgic, guilty pleasure of mine.

Now that shopping center is an empty strip of gackness. Last I read, there's no plan to do anything with it due to the fact that a historic cemetery located right behind it (full disclosure -- my family cemetery) has created a zoning nachtmahr.

Does anyone remeber Steve Somers & the "goalpost jump"?
I was at the first "Superbowl of Motocross" at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. We had a blast.
How about Johnny Beckman, Bruce Erion, Guy Sharpe?

Guy Sharpe used to come to my school and talk about weather. I loved him.

Speaking of people coming to schools - one time Chief Knock-a-Homa came to my elementary school for field day and he was totally plastered! Drunk as a skunk....

I worked as a bus boy at the IHOP at North Dekalb in '76. Guy Sharpe would come by most days for coffee. His kids went to Shamrock.

The Chief came by our elementary school as well. I don't know if he was plastered though. I wonder if he is still alive? Off to Google.
