Where was that! I remember fondly the fun we had there. What do you remember that is no longer here except for your memory?Gone but not forgotten probably describes many of your memories. Childhood memories or just memories of a few years back. What used to be there.
This is a thread for reminiscing!!![]() ![]() Last edited by satx56; 09-17-2008 at 02:26 PM.. |

Rich's. Before it became associated with Federated. Excellent service, locally owned. Macy's might carry the same type of merchandise, but that extra sense of service and local pride just isn't there.

Macy's couldn't hold a candle to Rich's...or Davison's, for that matter.

Here's another: Atlanta Stadium (or Altanta - Fulton Co. Stadium). Not saying that it was a better ballpark than Turner Field by any means. Just have a lot of good memories of going there, a lot of history, sad it is gone.

OK, got another. First Baptist Church on peachtree. Was on the cradle roll there and even after we moved to Griffin and then Hogansville, went back quite often. I understand their move in financial terms, but hate that the building was torn down.

The Downtown Atlanta Athletic Club...an exquisitely beautiful building (designed by Philip Shutze) that was razed in the 1970's...what a great loss. I have fond memories of dining there after church; the dining room's detail (especially the chandeliers) was so gorgeous and there is nothing in the city now to compare to it.
