It's insane that even with directions and maps I still wind up ending nearly every excursion sitting in my driveway screaming how much I hate this freaking city. Somebody, somewhere desperately needs to make it easier to get around.
As I've said before, it sounds like the City of Atlanta needs to take some queues from some of its suburban neighbors (e.g., Cobb County) w.r.t. things like effective road signage. The road signs out here are quite good -- and the signs about upcoming intersections are the best I've seen.

Curiously, when I violently agreed with Roslyn about her signage complaint - not sure if it was on this or another thread - it was lack of signage about upcoming intersections on Cobb Parkway (41) that I specifically had in mind. I haven't had to go over that way for about three years now, so maybe the county has improved the signage over there in recent years.

I don't drive enough on Cobb Parkway to know what the signage is like along that road, and when I do I know precisely where I'm going, but most major roads in Cobb seem to have the street names on the upcoming intersection signs which are placed well before the intersection in question. I'd be a little surprised if that wasn't the case on 41 as well.
