I looked at the Preserve too. I didnt like that odd drive and the hum from the highway.Have you looked at East Village Park? They are all craftsman houses, alot closer to grant park, and I think they are not as expensive as the preserve.

Thank you; I know the area between Moreland and Boulevard south of Grant Park and am not interested, but others here might be.

Ugh! That's looks so suburban. And the site plan is quite horrendous:

Some might consider it the worst of both worlds.
If only Serenbe were closer. I love what's being done there, but it's such a long drive from town.

I thought you were looking in the Kirkwood area? I'd take anything in Atlanta-in-Dekalb over the Perserve.

Had you seen The Preserve East before these pictures were posted?
(I believe LLD was and still is looking at Kirkwood.)

I may have missed this but did you look at Inman Park Village?

I looked at some of the pictures on its website...love it!, the variations in architecture, the fine grained mix of uses. It's great but too bad it's in the middle of nowhere.

I have a friend who moved here a few months ago and is really regretting it.
The neighbors are very unfriendly, many won't even make eye contact with you. His welcome to the neighborhood was a HOA violation notice for something that wasn't against the covenants. Later on he found out about one owner that sold at a loss due to the HOA. Then there is the build quality of the home......poor tile work, compromised support beams, the list goes on.
You get the worst part of suburban living (HOA's etc), with the worst part of city living (High Crime), and substandard build quality.

Didn't he have a home inspector go over the place before buying?? That would not have addressed the alleged HOA issues, or the unfriendly neighbors, but the build quality should have stuck out like a neon sign.
There are reasons why many of the posters here recommend the use of home inspectors...
