First I want to thank everyone that's been so helpful in the past when I post questions.
We just came down to Swuannee today and the area is beautiful but like alot of people have posted this area is packed with people and new developments. I have two questions, which town would you pick in gwinnett county to live in? Secondly, are all the schools in gwinnett county served by the gwinnett county public school district? Thank you so much. Mara |

The best Gwinnett place to live in IMO 1) West Norcross (on Peachtree Parkway and the forum), 2) historic Norcross or 3) city of Berkeley Lake, 4) Sugarloaf country CC area. Unfortunately, all those houses are very pricey.
For 200s range, Suwanee, Sugar Hill or South Forsthy (just west of Suwanee) are good choices due to relative affordable, good enough schools and convenient. That's probably reason you see a lot of people and probably transplants there. Another choice is Hamiliton Mills of Dacula, that's even north of Suwanee. Most Gwinnett schools belongs to Gwinnett school boards, but its zoning depend where kids live. South Suwanee go to Peachtree Ridge high school. North Suwanee and Sugar Hill go to North Gwinnett high school. Hamilton Mills go to Mill creeks high school. |

If you live in the city of Buford -- those children go to Buford City Schools.

I visited North Gwinnett (I hope that I am correct in saying this), precesely Duluth. I liked it. It was quiet and beautiful. I read comments about some crime, but I don't think it is where I visited because the real estate agent that drove us around was very fothcoming with information on where to stay as we have younger children. I also visited Alpharetta, I think it is in Fulton county. Some of the public schools feed in their sbudivision unless there is none then it ifeeds into the next subdivision (that is what I learned).

Gwinnett Co. is full of congestion - that's just the bottom line. Concerning schools, some Gwinnett Co. schools are good, some are not & have problems. I would recommend Grayson or Dacula as a choice in Gwinnett Co. Unless you're set on Gwinnett Co., try Loganville in Walton Co.

I have to agree with Atlanta. Try Loganville in Walton county. We moved here from Gwinnett county 5 years ago. My youngest attends Loganville High. We are very pleased with the school system here. One of my sons graduated from Berkmar High in Lawrenceville...I would highly recommend staying away from there.Good luck! Hope this helps!

I would reccommend Gwinnnett to anyone moving here. It's only 30 miles from the city and there's lots to do there. Suwanee is my choice. The community is great, awesome school districts and a fantastic residual value and appreciation for your real estate purchase. Collins Hill is a good school! Stay around Richland or go overf 85 and make a right over there by the Walmart and you'll run into a few more subdivisions to the left there. Ruby Forest is also nice. Hope that helps

Gwinnett is a Metro unto itself. Are you sure you want to live there? Is your employment in Gwinnett?
