Default Homes in Atlanta under $130K

Hello,

Are there any decent areas (preferably north of Atlanta) in which you can get a home for under $130K or should I just give up already...

Define what you mean by decent? Good schools, low crime, great amenities? For anything 130K or less your choices are limited to condos, townhomes or fix it uppers (if located roughly within 20-35 miles of Atlanta. Or you live very far out in areas that are considered exurbs and find this price range (though not too much of a selection). Far out counties include Jackson, Hall, Barrow, Bartow, Paulding, etc.

Yes Gloria,
Check out the Canton/Holly Springs area. I've seen a lot of homes right in that price range.

Default Homes under 130K

Yes there are a lot of homes under 130K in good school areas. There are so many homes for sale now, new and resale. Gwinnett is a great area for searching for your new home. Good schools, shopping areas, commute to work, restaurants, centrally located. It is a great time to be buying a home now. You can get into a home with 3% down with an FHA mortgage; 1st time homebuyers get a $7500 tax cedit till July of next year; great interest rates. If you have good credit and have a downpayment, now is the time to buy. Call a REALTOR and consult with them about your needs. Being a buyer their services are free to you!
