These things to matter in some instances. Government and Commerce officials try to get business etc and while Charlotte is a lot smaller, it's at the point where it does compete and I think that is part of the point in the article. As usual it gets it wrong on some things. Neither having the NASCAR Hall of Fame, World of Coke, or any other city's attractions, don't make a city.
Neither do contrived multipurpose projects of national chain stores.

Which is a true statement, But my thing is 30 years from now those things may change. The only reason why marta wont expand is basically because of Gwinnet And Cobb county. They have tried many of times too but the people of those countys keep voting against it.

Actually they say public opinion has changed for the better on Martas' side.Georgia is pro business. The Governor (whom I despise) is doing a good job luring companies and countries here.He sucks(and the legislature) when it comes to Atlanta and fixing infrastructure related work.As I said earlier their is a chance that we could again have a Democratic Governor that is more pro Atlanta like our previous Governor Roy Barnes who is rumored to be considering another run.

In your linked pic of the list of the cities...everyone, please notice which cities have (or have to have) their state following their name...

Its a combination of many things.Of course Charlotte can compete.Every city with any significant population, infrastructure, and positive geographical conditions can. What is the difference is the SCALE in which in competes and the quality.

The last vote was 20 years ago, so I think you exaggerate a bit.

They actually had a vote last year just to test the waters and the numbers were promising. I don't remember the exact numbers though.

Not in Cobb. A poll, perhaps.
