Dude how did you get a negative 2 rep points? A lot of the fine posters on here already mentioned that a lot of people come to Atlanta expecting too much/heaven. It's best not to have high expectations about anything because you'll always be let down. Atl's like the fair, it sucks if you think it'll be like Disney but it'll (possibly) bring enjoyment if you had no thoughts about it (fairs are LAME by the way).

Have you heard of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain? The Battle of Atlanta? Martin Luther King? The 1996 Olympics?
Atlanta burned in 1864...the fire in Chicago was 20+ years later. What is the great history in Chicago? 1968 Dem convention?

Bravofan,
I never said I agree or disagree, I was curious myself. I got an infraction point from the MODS as well for a post a while back. But since I had so many REP points I never saw a NEG,, I was curious to see if that was what the situation was.
I hope that answers your question.
Also, in general, just because I disagree with someone does not mean I cannot help them out does it? When you start thinking everything is personal, it's time to reevaluate who you are. I'm 35y/o not 9y/o.
IRL, we can disagree until the cows come home, but if I saw you on the side of the road because you ran out of gas, I'd stop and help you. Thats the way I was raised.
Keep in mind, I don't know anyone on CD other than from posts, why wouldn't I help him out? I have no reason not to....................
Notice below my screen name it says "Pay It forward"

ChicagoRon, I'm not part of this argument because I realize that you were just asking but that guy was in the negative for a reason, it's like you giving gas to a guy who hit and ran. Anyway you gave your reason and I'll just drop it because I stopped caring about the bashers a long time ago but if you're not informed I can help you out.

Bravo, it's all good. He never bashed me, at least I don't think he did. Hell, even if he did, I've been bashed before online and in person, it's no biggie. Maybe folks will see how I handled this situation and think this is how adults should act and learn something........
I always control the situation. Someone has to be the leader, I guess it should be me. I'll let everyone else follow, as they appear to be doing a good job of being followers.
But anyway, thanks for the offfer to assit me.

You might consider checking out Kennesaw Mountain or the Cyclorama sometime.
Also note that a gentleman named Sherman had something to do with the lack of historic structures hearabouts. The lack of history is itself an artifact of local (and national) history.

Actually, Sherman's role in Atlanta's destruction is drastically overrated. In actuality, only about 10% of Atlanta's structures were destroyed due to his efforts.
The truth is that antebellum Atlanta was a rather ramshackle, makeshift affair. There weren't many public (or private) structures of significance at the time. Most were pulled down after the war to make room for more modern structures...a habit that Atlanta still finds difficult to break.
