Any liberal areas in Georgia outside of Atlanta ?
Is the city of Atlanta the only liberal part of Georgia, other than college towns like Athens ? I mean, are any of the suburbs of Atlanta considered liberal ? What about rural areas in Georgia ? Is it all conservative ? Is it true that most white people in GA are republican and most black people are democrat ?

I see plenty of Obama signs in No. Fulton. There are so many transplants in this area, all the stereotypes are falling by the wayside.

Decatur is very liberal. Many gay/lesbians there (not that you are, but it's liberal due in at least some part to that). Nice town as well. You will find liberals in most northern suburbs, but I'd say it's more conservative all-around than liberal.

That is true; in addition the neighborhoods in DeKalb that surround Emory University tend to be liberal as well.

For rural areas of Atlanta, the only ones that tend to be "liberal" are the college towns.

Most likely this is the case for rural GA. I haven't taken the time to figure this out by research, but I believe most rural counties in Georgia that are majority white tend to vote Republican and the counties that are majority black tend to vote Democrat. Up until about 10-20 years ago, black and white Georgians voted primarily for Democrats. It has changed in recent times for Georgian whites to vote Republican. In a very racially diverse metro Atlanta, the white voters probably are more divided in political affiliations.

Probably in the urban precincts, but nowhere else.
