Yeah there is.....I remember several times last winter that it was like 22 in Peachtree City and 40 in Downtown....but that's usually only in the morning. The daytime highs aren't all that different

Yes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon it will be 2-3 degrees cooler away from the city but usually there isnt a big difference during the day.

I doubt there were "several times" last winter that it was 22 degrees ANYWHERE.

You're wrong. You seem to follow my posts around and negate/try to argue something in every one. Stop it.

I was using that as an example....it was one morning in Late December I think it was.

But, yes.....on a clear, calm night, there can be as much as a 20 degree difference between outlying areas and midtown Atlanta or the Airport.

Peachtree City usually has the coldest temps in Metro Atlanta due to topographical reasons. It's very common for Peachtree City to be 5-10 degrees cooler than Intown.

I can get on board with 5-10 degrees (more like 5), but this claim of 15-20 degrees is simply untrue.

Metro Atlanta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Y'all, scroll down to Climate and read.

Key words to look for:

shallow valleys
Newnan
Peachtree City
cooling rapidly
clear
calm nights
humidity
microclimate
southwest

Good Luck.

Good Luck.
I read that and it says that Peachtree City and Newnan will be as much as 20 degrees cooler on the 11pm news but will not drop much further, while temps in the city will continue to drop. That's not true. I live near Newnan and trust me the temps continue to drop after 11pm. A difference of 20 degrees between the city and suburban/rural areas isnt an every night occurance. A difference of 10 degrees is much more common, but there will be 15 nights or so a winter when there's a 15-20 degree difference at night. The biggest temperature difference I've ever seen was when it was 44 in Atlanta and 22 in Newnan, but that was a rare occurance.
