And the Mets. Maybe most of all; but since the novelty is not the same since they visit so often perhaps not.

I'd love to sit around other fans as opposed to wearing my Yankee gear surrounded by Braves fans.
I think the fans here are probably ok. There are not like the Phillies Fans!!

Don't worry my NY brother, there are barely any Braves fans in this city... it will be 60% Yankees fans... and I'll see you there with my Mattingly jersey.

You don't know it yet but those transplanted New Yorkers will have children who will grow up loving the Braves. I expect only half the transplant's kids will fall victim to Yankee, Dodger/Angel, and Cubs propaganda; sorry mets fans your kids are destined to be Braves fans (if you moved down here).

Not this Jersey transplant's child. Not if he wants to eat.

But seriously you most often become a fan of a team by seeing them play often and although we now live here I don't think my son will be viewing many Braves games in this house. Not unless they're playing the Mets. I just don't watch much baseball otherwise.

Do you honestly feel that way? I'm new here, I believe the HOMER way is the way to be, but thats just me. Turner Field was one of the first landmarks I looked for when I first moved here 7 months ago. Wanted to go to a game, but finding a job was priority at the time. I even filled out an app with the Braves.

My question is you say the NY LA fans kids will cheer Braves, the Braves have been here since 1966, that is 42 years and the fan base still allows these other fans to take over Turner Field? I mean this aint the Diamond Backs or Rays we talking here. I thought the Atlanta Braves were king of Atlanta? Whats the deal?

Some sports teams have historically huge followings - Cubs, Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers...Celtics, Bulls, Knicks, Lakers...Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers...etc. The fact that Turner Field could be half-filled with Cubs fans just proves the large number of transplants in Atlanta, and they have just as much access to sporting events as Atlanta fans...and the fact that Atlanta isn't viewed as an unhospitable environment for visiting teams makes it easier for opposing teams fans to come out in numbers and wear their colors - something they may not be as comfortable doing in Philadelphia.

1)I do feel that way. 2)The Braves were straight garbage from 66 till about the 90's, I was born in 86 so they always had my attention during the 90's and today. Most kids that have transplant parents find it corny to inherit their parents love of a team that is wherever when there's one here (that's 50/50 though). Say you had a family from Flushing who moved here in 91 and they had a 1 year old, today that kid 17/18 and I bet they would lean more toward the Bravo side (of course they could end hating both team). I would think that our fanbase grew some in the 90s beause some Redsox family made the mistake of taking their kid to Tom Glavine's pitching camp or something like that. 3)Football still rules here but it's becoming more balanced between baseball, football, and basketball in my opinion. Despite being somewhat surrounded by Reds fans (who provided the Salvation Army with Reds gear) I never budged, even when my (bandwagon) mother ridiculed me for rooting for the Braves against the varsity team in NY. Kayrob, your kid may end up disliking both teams and root for Philly.
