And Christmas shopping in Nov in short sleeves and flip flops?? GA weather is well....messed up. I need for mother nature to make up her mind, hot or cold in the winter!! This is why I am moving to Mass. I need real winters!
We had about 15 inches of snow in the Blizzard of 93, in northwest ga.

That's how I remember it, too. Throughout my childhood, I was always perfectly comfortable wearing just my (fake) blood soaked t-shirt and jeans on Halloween.

Also, when I was a kid (in the '80s) we used to get enough snow each winter to go sledding in our neighborhood. It all melted in a matter of a day or two, but it did snow. This "it never snows here" thing is a fairly recent trend.

I remember when it snowed on Halloween. I think that was '93, the same year as the blizzard. That was a cold year, with lots of snowfall.

Have fun...you'll get them, along with lots of shoveling practice. Winter sounds wonderful and like some Norman Rockwell painting, and can be when the first storm hits in Dec, but just wait until late March or early April, when you're exhausted from the dark, the cold, and the snow and just want some warm weather and to see the ground. Then come back and tell us how you like it.

True story:

A good friend of mine moved one summer from his home town of Augusta to Chicago to take a job at a university. On the first snowfall in late November he stood in his office gazing out the window, mesmerized. After a long time of staring at the snowfall he finally asked his office-mate "is it going to do this all day?"

His office-mate, who was born and raised in Chicago, replied "All day?!? It's going to do this until March!"

We had a nice little snowstorm last winter. Two inches, maybe.

We had 3 or 4 inches where I lived last winter, but that was from 2 different snowfalls. I want like one big snowfall, 6 inches or more. We havent had that kind of snow in nearly 7 years. It would be nice to have a White Christmas. It's been nearly 20 years since Atlanta had a White Christmas.
