Where do Emory profs live?
We are considering a move to Atlanta, and want our kids to grow up in a safe area, but more diverse than in the suburbs. We lived briefly in the northern suburbs a few years back and didn't care for it much.
We've lived around universities before and have liked the diversity of backgrounds, incomes, and, to generalize, home styles/ages (a lot of university areas seem to be older/established).
Are there neighborhoods in Atlanta that are home to a lot of professors and their families? I'm guessing that Druid Hills would be the closest match, but do you know of other areas too?

Yes, you would be correct about DH, since the university is right in the neighborhood.
Other neighborhoods popular with Emory faculty:
City of Decatur
Morningside
Virginia-Highland
Midtown
Inman Park
Candler Park
Lake Claire
North Decatur
Oak Grove
North Druid Hills
Emory-Northlake

Well, maybe add in Sagamore Hills and Briarlake (but these areas can maybe already be considered a part of some of the aforementioned places).

Absolutely...I kind of lump them in with Oak Grove, along with Briarlake Woods, Echo Woods and Echo Lake.
Northlake-Emory would include Breckinridge, Amberwood and all of those great neighborhoods off of Briarlake Rd.

Hwy 78 (That side) is special in Atlanta. No other road like it.

I love those neighborhoods off of Briarlake (and that part of Briarcliff as well)!

Are you referring to Ponce De Leon? If so, ITA.
