Default Moving to Alpharetta, Georgia from Connecticut

Hi,

I am thinking about relocating to Alpharetta from Connecticut. I am a black female with a family. Can anyone tell me about the schools in Alpharetta in terms of diversity?

Thanks

Click report card.

Northview, Milton and Chattohoochee high are predominate white with large Asian population (15 to 20%). Black students are range from 6 to 10%.

Those three schools are considered best three in North Fulton county. So the property in those neighborhoods are pretty expensive in comparsion.

If you find a house in a little north in new Alpharatta high school district or a little east in Duluth high of Gwinnett, the black student population in those two schools are around 15%. Those two schools are probably not as good as those three above but are still ranked top 25 in Georgia in term of SAT. Also, house prices in those neighborhoods are a little cheaper as well.

Your housing money goes better in Forsyth County (Cumming) north of Alpharetta. As long as your are not of a minority race. Just 3 years ago they still had racial signs posted off of best friend road. The influx of hispanics is not doing anything to warm up the community either.
