Hello,

We have just moved to Grayson and are looking for a top private school in the area, we are Catholic but our main interested is high academic standards. We are looking for Pre-K and K and would like for our kids to stay in the school for as long as possible. Thank you for your help!

May I ask your budget-- are you looking in the parochial price range or the Atlanta well respected, well known price range? (for lack of a better description)

Aside from a couple of Montessori schools, I don't think there are many private schools in the area. If someone could tell me the names of reasonable places to commute from there, I could be more help.

Would Wesleyan or Greater Atlanta Christian be reasonable? What about Woodward Academy North (very, very hard to get into) in Duluth (but in Fulton, right?)

Keep in mind that Gwinnett schools overall are pretty good -- so you really need to make sure you are getting bang for your buck so to speak.

It is not always a given that private schools are better than local public schools.

Make sure you take a tour of Collins Hill Christian School on Collins Hill Road. They have pre-K through 8th grade. I've heard nothing but great things about them and the administration. Hebron Christian Academy is another private school. I've heard good and questionable things about them, but they are worth a tour too.

Also Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn. I've heard pretty good things. I'm not aware of any well-known Catholic schools in Gwinnett. Plenty to choose from in N. Fulton and DeKalb though

Hello, If you are still looking for a private school in the Grayson area...may I suggest Loganville Christian Academy. My son started kindergarten there in August 2008. My husband and I are extremely happy with our choice. They have an incredible curriculum. It is a k-4 through 12 school. Loganville Christian Academy offers all the sports and art programs that the public schools have. They are located off of Hwy 81 south. Not far at all from Grayson. It would be worth your time to check them out.
