How many people use the MARTA rail line? Is it very efficient? I've been living here for almost a year and never really found the need to use it, but I think it might be a better deal to take the train to the airport than drive. Parking is cheaper and it drops you off closer the the airport than The Parking Spot. What do you think?

About 276,000 people use Marta each day...the trains have recently been refurbished and in my experience Marta has always been a clean, safe, reliable, convenient system.

Many stations have free parking or cheap long term parking. The Airport Station is very convenient - you walk out of the station directly into the airport terminal. I definitely recommend it.

I'm a New Yorker and just used MARTA from Airport to N Springs yesterday to visit family. I personally like the MARTA train and think the Airport station is a great idea. I transferred to the 185 bus and found the driver unfriendly when i asked about the stop and when i thanked her when I got off she did not respond.(however I have found MARTA train employees to be friendly and helpful). However, I thought the bus itself was really cool and the transit TV's inside the bus and train were really a great idea!!

If you are on the north side of Atlanta, the MARTA train to the airport is definitely your best bet. It takes you directly into the airport, if it's raining you won't get wet, the train goes through town faster than a cop car could, going code 3 all the way.

When I fly into Atlanta to visit my parents (Lawrenceville area) I always take the train up to one of the most northern stops, they meet me there.

I have had no problems with security on MARTA. Obviously if you are stinking drunk and wearing 3 pounds of gold chains around your neck, you will find trouble, but anyone using a bit of sense should have no issues.

I use MARTA to the Philips Arena, Georgia Dome and the Georgia World Congress Center all the time. Parking downtown is so expensive and you would be stuck in traffic anyway.

The Airport Station is actually in the Airport itself.

Use the Marta all the time, Although with gas going down in price expansion talk will slow. Not a good thing in my opinion. Some stations could use more developments, but over all its ok system. I know some people that will drive to the same place a Marta train can get them, like the Georgia Dome or Lenox Mall. Personally I think that is foolish but people are set in their ways so.....Again because gas prices are falling the request for more stations and cars per train are quieting down.

I also live in Lawrenceville. Would you tell me which is the last stop of the train to get off and transfer to which bus number and station so that I can go to lawrenceville. Does any one know Doraville zip code so that I can rent a car near by Doraville station as an option? any rental car office near by?
