But what policies or actions on the state level would be considered "left"? That's my point. I haven't noticed any progressive agendas or policies that I could look at and say, "OK, that's a liberal policy." Yes, Atlanta itself and several other areas are "blue", but that doesn't mean that Georgia is center/right. If that's the case, then Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama are center/right - they all had pockets of blue in the last election.

What I have noticed certainly are "central" policies, but also very "right" policies and actions, which would mean that on average, the state is to the right on the political spectrum.

The worst in my view is a three way tie between Forest Park, Riverdale and Stone Mountain. They are all crime ridden communities ran by corrupt inept governments. Forest Park is being taken over by illegal aliens too.

Wow. I thought that Stone Mountain would be a nice area. (Never been there). Haha. It sounded nice though. Isnt there like a mountain land mark there?

Stone Mountain at one time was nice, as was much of DeKalb County. Been many changes throughout the years and not for the good.
Stone Mountain Park is still nice.

Now c'mon Deac, ya gotta play the card now don't ya.
DeKalb's issues and many on the forum are not that DeKalb has become "to black" heck, you can ask my two neighbors and they will tell you the same thing, by the way they are a little darker than I. and both moved from Stone Mountain and DeKalb in order to get their kids in better schools. Oh never mind they must be Cracker Lovin' Uncle Tom's.

Also, not all of DeKalb is bad, for example Decatur and other areas. Most of the issues in Stone Mountain follow Rt 78. A main route, a gang cooridor, and for some reason a magnent for riff raff and illegals. Some can say the same for the Jimmy Carter / Buford Road corridor in Norcross.

We came from Maine based on a job offer from Whole Foods and bought a home near Canton.
The Canton area and our specific neighborhood seemed to fit for us. YMMV.

Parts of Stone Mountain are okay, others have really gone downhill. The same thing can be said for certain portions of the 78 corridor through Snellville.

A lot of people that don't know anything about DeKalb with the exception of what they see on the news are convinced it's a ghetto hell-hole. What they fail to realize is that some of the wealthiest, most beautiful areas of the metro are within DeKalb. I have had co-workers from the Northern exurbs gasp in horror when I told them where I lived. One girls husband refused to allow ANY destinations inside 285 without he and his gun going along for the ride, including Perimeter, Lenox & Phipps! Sadly, I'm afraid a couple of hundred thousand of our Northside neighbors misguidedly feel the same way.

I have lived in the NW area of the County (roughly where Brookhaven/Chamblee come together) for over 14 years now and love it! You couldn't blast me out of here.

Now, if I had school age children, I would probably feel a little differently (I'm in the Cross Keys HS zone).

But, Georgia, Deacon J has got a point. There are still many nice and beautiful parts of Stone Mountain.

To be very general, the NW quadrant of DeKalb is very well-heeled: Decatur, N. Decatur, Druid Hills, N. Druid Hills, LaVista Park, Brookhaven, Oak Grove, and Dunwoody all reside within its' boundaries.
Frankly, I could care less what the exurbanites think of where I live.
As far as Cross Keys HS goes, it was rough even when I was in high school...in the early 70's!
