Yep, you're right...what what he really wants to say...a city/metro with less black people.

What people need to realize, along with the trees/forest, one of Atlanta's distinguishing features is that it is a major world/international city with such large/integral black population. It wouldn't be Atlanta if it had the same demographics as NYC, Chicago, etc.

Embrace Atlanta's "Atlanta-ness/Southerness," y'all!

Atlanta needs something bigger, much grander.
Yeah, but can you imagine what a charley foxtrot that will be? After all, this is a city that wound up with one of the worst Olympic mascots of modern times. Even the Aquarium had to rip off Disney with 'Deepo' as a mascot. BTW, anyone know how they got away with that? Usually Disney is very protective of their copyright.

- More MARTA rail lines
- The completed Beltline
- Commuter lines to the OTP suburbs
- High speed rail lines to Savannah and Florida via Macon, and to Chattanooga
- More skyscrapers in Midtown and Buckhead, and more unique iconic structures
- A new skyline around Little Five Points, to be visible from I-20

- Flashy neon lights and signs to give the city a dazzling effect at night
- More high tech features to make Atlanta seem ahead in the future than the rest of the U.S. and equal to Japan (such as washlets in public bathrooms, overhead freeway traffic maps, remote bells on restaraunt tables to call waiters, etc.)

There are some fairly famous and important monuments and statues in Atlanta, but maybe they aren't marketed or highlighted like they should be in order to bring more attention to them. I didn't post nearly all of the public art around Atlanta, and I left out a couple major ones...

Homage to King
Artist: Xavier Medina-Company/Barcelona, Spain

Atlanta Public Arts Legacy Fund - Preserving public art in Atlanta and enduring the legacy of the 1996 Olympics.

Absolutely not! Leave Little Five Points alone...it's excellent just the way it is.

I noticed recently how many digital advertisements and big screens there are when driving through downtown. I think they are pretty distracting...but I like the idea of more neon...we need more of these:
