Top public schools in the North Atlanta area with smaller class sizes
My husband and I are relocating to the Atlanta area from Ohio and are looking for top schools with class enrollment numbers between 250-400. After some research, all I can find are good schools but with class sizes above 500. Any schools out there with decent class size numbers in the North Atlanta area (husband will be working in Duluth)?

Do you mean high school classes or are you referencing size of school?
Student-teacher ratio in GA varies from elementary and/or middle, high school and individual classes would contain from 20 -30 students. Elementary schools might have between 250-500 students, particularly in Gwinnett/Duluth, the largest school system in the state.
Forsyth County is adjacent to Gwinnett and might have smaller schools.

So, you're looking each class in the high school to have roughly 250-400 students, or for the entire school to have 250-400 students?

The high schools probably have 1,000-2,000 students. Gwinnett builds big schools.

Actually, they are even bigger in Gwinnett. Shiloh High is the only high school slightly below 2,000. Gwinnett high schools average 2,000-4,000.
(I think Mill Creek High is over 4,000 right now...but that will be alleviated when they open up Mountain View High in 2009.)
This why I am asking if she/he really is talking about high class (grade) size or school size!

That is what I asked and she said 'high school size'.
' are looking for top schools with class enrollment numbers between 250-400. After some research, all I can find are good schools but with class sizes above 500. '
So she wants a smaller high school than is typically available in Gwinnett?
Forsyth, Barrow or Jefferson counties?

I have no idea. S/he needs to clarify...(class size or school size)...

I think that she probably means 250-400 per class (as in 250-400 in the freshman class, 250-400 in the sophomore class, etc...).
You're going to have a lot of trouble finding smaller schools in Gwinnett County. The elementary schools are gigantic, much less the high schools! They do divide them up into "pods" in elementary at least. I think that that helps with personalizing the process a bit.

I'm thinking the same thing as well, but it isn't exactly clear...
