I was hoping to visit Olympic park and that whole area which looks gorgeous at night. Is it safe to walk around an enjoy?

Thanks

Remember it gets dark now by 530 PM and so you can easily see it at night by simply going in the early evening. In the next few weeks there are lots of events at Phillips and the dome. I would pick the night when the largest events are going on and go then. Tonight, for example, with the GA high school finals being at the dome, the area should be busy.

I think that is excellent advice. You could easily check the website for Philips Arena and see what events are taking place. http://www.philipsarena.com/

I would take MARTA as parking can get expensive unless you literally have a van full of people.

You can check the park's website for an activities schedule too. Welcome to Centennial Olympic Park

Of course being downtown, just exercise caution such as men's wallets in the front pocket and be conscious of your surroundings.

The park is decorated with thousands of Christmas lights, and there are big crowds there every night...if that makes it more secure. There are lots of people living around that general area as well, so there is foot traffic all the time.

I believe there's a small ice skating rink set up now, so there should be some decent crowds- especially on the weekends. That'd probably be the best time to be there.

As long as you use common sense, it shouldn't be a problem. The crowds are large enough that you wouldn't be the only person walking back to the Marta station.

In general the area is relatively safe, but the weekends are the best days. Tonight is a perfect night to visit, the Hawks play Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers so for once the Arena will be packed.

CityFan is on a distinguished road
It's a safe place. I have been there many times during night and always see cops or visitors around. Even there wasn't anybody, there wasn't any bad guy. Again nothing is absolute. Even cops can be killed by bad guys.
