Yes, indeed. S/he needs to be made to face up to this - and the City-Data forum is just the place to do it!

thanks for the information Deacon J. That was really helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to put that out there. I'll look at it tonight when I get home.
what are your thoughts on City Heights Condominium at 375 Ralph McGill Blvd NE 30312. I have a 14th floor unit up for rent that seems to be a pretty good deal. Is that close the midtown, where there will still be a life after work hours? Or will it be dead after work hours? How safe is the neighborhood?
thanks all!!

I have looked at an apartment there in the past...very close to Midtown and in a concentrated area of condos and apartments centered on Central Park Drive - I know lots of people who live in that little area of Old Fourth Ward and they love it. It's very convenient to restaurants and shopping/grocery stores on North Ave. (1-2 blocks), Ponce (2-3 blocks) and Piedmont Ave. (3-4 blocks). There are a couple of not-so-great areas nearby - Boulevard to the east and Juniper Ave. to the west - but the immediate area around City Heights is fine. It is a pretty nice building...

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but there's no comparison to what those parts were like 10-15 yrs ago with what you see now. It's like a whole city inside a city has been built there, with the whole IKEA center nearby, Target, and of course the Atlanta station development. Some of this big box retail might not be a plus for you I realize, but for convenience there's no comparison. Years ago if you lived down here you'd have to either drive up to Lenox or to a suburb to get to some of the larger stores. No mas.

You meant Atlantic Station Atlantic Station® - Life Happens here. and has the OP looked into residences there as potential homes? I hear both really good and negative things about the area and it's just a short shuttle ride to the MARTA Arts Center station which can quickly get you downtown.

Exactly. Tks. for clarifying. Actually, though I had Atlantic Station in mind in particular I was really thinking more broadly of the whole swath running from the Howell Mill area down to Marietta St. and the CNN Ctr. 15 yrs ago it almost seemed like an empty city down there. Now, it's starting to look like something.

We have been focusing on the NE part of town, but just today we found a townhome in the SW part of town.
It is a beautiful place with all the amenities we are looking for. The owners are personable too.
What are your thoughts on this neighborhood:
250 amal drive sw
atlanta,ga 30315
Its the Park Place South townhome/condominium/single family home complex.
All feedback appreciated.
