You know what, I got a lot of family in Miami and its the south. Everything we see on TV is not whats up down there, BUT I think Atlanta gets that same over exposure. Not directed at Ria Rhodes negatively and yes there are many cubans, west indian & puerto ricans, but there are many southern blacks and white down there too. My pops was a navy recruiter in Miami for like 4 years, I used to see that confederate flag all the time down there. You know you are in the south when you see that thing. |

It is often said that the main exception to Central and South Florida not being "southern" is the African-American population there (I'm not including the West Indians!). The African-American population of Central+South Florida is, for the most part, very Southern (think Belle Glade, Their Eyes Were Watching God, etc...). |
