Question North vs. South Fulton

Hi, I am relocating from LA, CA to Atlanta, GA within the next couple of months. I am trying to put together a package of properties to come visit at the end of the month. What is the environment difference b/w North and South Fulton county? Also, I found a property by the Atlanta University Center where all the black colleges/universities are located. Is this a good area to live or is it considered over run with college students. I am a single female moving to ATL. I want diversity - loud/quiet, etc....... I work from home for a company so I do not need to worry about traffic unless coming back from traveling.

Any ideas? I like the older homes and Fulton County has a lot older homes with character. Are there any areas that I should most definitely stay away from? I have a realtor. Unfortunately, they do not always tell it like it is for fear of offending someone. I would rather know the truth - good and bad.

Also, does anyone know of a source where the zip code will help breakdown the areas location wise? It might be a dumb question since city-data probably does. LOL.

Thanks,
Rachel

Sorry but my post wont get you any answers to your questions but I found this interesting. Take a look at this website, http://www.beltline.org, and you’ll get a feel of current trends in metro Atlanta where you may find older homes at a good value in older neighborhoods.
