Default Doraville | New Football Stadium?

http://www.ajc.com/search/content/me...doraville.html

Doesnt sound like a bad idea. By the cost of the new stadium, it would probably look like the new stadium in Dallas. My only concern is what they would do with the land that the stadium in currently on. If they would use that land to expand the GWCC and to build something to bring in the same amount of tourist that would normally come to the dome then it would be ok.

I agree, I think that if there are "good" plans for the existing GA Dome, then a move might be good to Doraville.

I would want a MARTA train stop for the new stadium.

GSU is about to have a football team for the first time. I think they intend to play at the Georgia Dome. That's not going to be enough of a money maker to sustain the dome, but GSU is probably in support of the "move the Falcons to Doraville" idea.

I hate domed stadiums, especially for teams in the south. A retractable roof would be fine with me and even though I get free parking downtown, I would have no problem with them moving to Doraville.

Doraville Marta Station would be near the new stadium so the GSU fans can take marta to Doraville.

My point was, GSU would probably like the Georgia Dome all to themselves, and therefore are probably in support of the Falcons moving to a new stadium IF that means GSU gets the Georgia Dome. The GA Dome being within walking distance of the GSU campus makes it all the more attractive.

After all that GSU has done for downtown Atlanta over the last decade, there's no way they're going to want to play football in Doraville.

I agree, a retractable roof is the way to go.

Sounds nice enough... although I've always liked the fact that all 3 of Atlanta major sports venues were in the same general area.
