Hello all. Are buyer's agents used with some regularity in Atlanta? My wife and I are about to enter the housing market and we're looking for a good buyer's agent.

Specifically we're looking at bungalows in intown neighborhoods like Va-Hi, Inman Park, Candler Park, Lake Claire, EAV, and Grant Park.

If you've got a recommendation, please private message me.

Default GREAT in-town agent

The best in town agent is Rob Hurley. VERY knowledgable and hard working. He is with Solid Source Realty

Default good homes in that area

if you travel west on abernathy to cascade (where avon meets cascade), those neighborhoods have homes in the 30k-40k range. I have been in many homes in the area as a real esate agent and can verify they do need some work, but are very good buys. I purchase a lot of homes for clients in the area and they have been very happy with their decision to move there. Most of the properties needs AC units, interior paint, and appliances. Other than that they are move in ready.
The neighborhoods are safe and many of the neighbors welcome owner occupied buyers. Many of the foreclosures were mortgage fraud deals and are in great shape.

I'd try Miriam Mathura. She is a neighbor of mine and is very down to earth and honest to a fault. I have seen her help lots of families find terrific homes (some on our street!). She really knows the area that you describe well. She is with Coldwell Banker. Just google her name and you can get her contact info.

Pat Westrick is also wonderful. She helped us find two houses. You can google her to get her info also.

Welcome to intown!

I used a Realtor named Mark Chernesky. He is very knowledgeable on in-town neighborhoods.
