The worst part of Clay Co is the Apartment complexes.... But there are a LOT of really prestigious sub divisions down there though.

Unfortunately, that includes grammar and style as well as other more germane aspects of its content.

It isn't fair, perhaps, but neither is judging people based on the clothes they wear or the accent they might have.

If you aren't interested in making a positive impression here, we certainly can't stop you, but be aware that it does color others' perceptions of you whether you like it or not.

I've been writing in online forums since the mid 1970's, and AFAICT it ain't gonna change anytime soon...

No. Arpanet didn't even exist until the end of 1969.

However, the state of Minnesota had the MECC Timesharing System running on a CDC Cyber that highschools all over the state could dial into using a 110 baud (10 CPS) or 300 baud (30 CPS) accoustic modem and a text-based terminal (TTY33, Silent 700, DECWriter, etc.), and we also had access to the MERITSS system at the University of Minnesota, TIES, MIRJE, and several others.

Most were basic timesharing systems that only had e-mail, but MECC's system ran a slick multiuser environment called MULTI which allowed for real-time chat programs (XTALK, MTC, MMT, DDT, etc.) and multiuser games like COMBAT (spaceship combat with lasers) and KARNATH (a multi-user dungeon). MERITSS had X,TALK as well, but I'm not sure what environment that ran in.

That's right. I was doing real-time chat and blowing up friends hundreds of miles away with my lasers and dual missile tubes before a lot of the posters in this forum were even born!

Some people know nothing about Clayton County Schools other than that the school system is "terrible" because it lost accreditation. Do you even know what criteria is used in the accreditation process or why Clayton's was revoked? Let's just say that it had nothing to do with the quality of schools, teachers, students, or overall education. I'm not a fan of Clayton County Schools for reasons other than the recent problems, but it's ridiculous to label the education system as "terrible" ONLY based on media attention to the county's lost accreditation that was the fault of the Board of Ed.

I know there are parts of Clayton that are ok (Lake Spivey comes to mind) but the truth is, the Riverdale Road area of the county does have the most crime in the county (based on actual crime statistics) the lowest home values in the area, and the highest forcloser rates. I am not saying you personally live in a ghetto, but the truth is, that is not a part of metro Atlanta that is known for being well off. And yes, I may not have lived in the area, but I was in the area on a daily basis. I used to frequent Southlake Mall on occation as well (till the area started going down hill unfortuantely). I have had seedy people come up to my car at buisnesses in the area looking for loose change and so forth.
