No comparison. Charlotte feels like a "big town", and Atlanta has a lot more of an urban feel. Charlotte is cleaner, yet has a more slow-paced lifestyle. Atlanta has more attractions, more nightlife, more shopping, more college students, etc.

I think of Charlotte as a fast-growing "New South" Banking town with a large transplant population. It has potential of being a large city, but it's not 'there' yet. Hopefully, it has learned from the planning mistakes Georgia.

Hm, hadn't really thought about it actually.

Seems like most responses you're going to get here are going to be a view of Charlotte from the standpoint of Atlanta, no? Is that what you're really asking?

I hope Charlotte grows and try not to follow Atlanta but have its own distinct style. Right now I see the NC's Queen City (Cincy's the well known QC) as trying to be like Atlanta. I like the fact that QC 2.0 has the potential to pass ATL so hopefully our city leadership wake up and get competitve. I know you asked about QC 2.0 and ATL but NC is way better than GA in my opinion so that's something to feel good about.

I'd like to visit, but it's far enough away to be a nonfactor for me. Don't know much about it other than its location, though.
