Messing around some old sites and I stumbled across this tonight. It's one of those "like - WOW" moments.

This is a MP3, so make sure you can play it and have your speakers on. It's an actual theme song about Atlanta from Terry Lee Jenkins in 1961 that was apparently popular enough to make it to the radio and old vinyl records...

Kewl! I think they should use it for advertising today! Beats Rap! Well, they need to chance the "town of a million" lyric to more, but hey, it's got a beat that makes you wanna boogie in the barn.

You can find that and more at the Atlanta time machine site: ATLANTA TIME MACHINE

LOL. Fun little tune. Although any city with three syllables could take the same song and repurpose it.

The Miracle Mile has the biggest stores around ... Chi-ca-go! Chi-ca-go! That's my hometown!

Biscayne Boulevard is the prettiest street around ... Mi-a-mi! Mi-a-mi! That's my hometown!

We're smack on the border with good ol' Mexico ... El Pa-so! El Pa-so! That's my hometown!

So grab a crab cake and just sit yourself down ... Bal-ti-more! Bal-ti-more! That's my hometown!

Our sleek monorail is the very best ride around ... Se-at-tle! Se-at-tle! That's my hometown!

I actually vote this for the theme song: Cabbagetown (wooo-woo Cabbagetown! Never going back to Cabbagetown).
