Default Please tell me about Acworth.

I am relocating from Newton, MA to Acworth with my 9 year old and 4 year old. We're looking in the subdivision called Bentwater. Please give me any information for schools, crime, safety and things for kids to do. I really appreciate your input and thank you in advance.

Acworth covers 4 counties, Cobb, Bartow, Cherokee, Paulding in that order. Bentwater is very nice, in Paulding...not Cobb Schools, and very, very far away from 75 in the morning/afternoon.

It really depends on your work. I personally don't like how close the houses are but that's is a personal choice but be cognicent of where you're working. If you have to get ot 75 in the morning, you're moving to the absolut worse place in the area

gt6974a is right about it depending on where you work, and if you plan to commute everyday.

For school info, check out www.greatschools.net Also check out the school districts' websites for more current information, since some stats are a few years old on that website, and this area is growing quite a bit.

We are in West Cobb right by the Paulding County line. We looked at Paulding, Cherokee, and Cobb schools and decided that Cobb Schools were the best option for us. The area you have mentioned and surrounding areas shouldn't be a safety concern.

We have (2) 5 year olds and a 3 year old and have had no problem finding things for them to do in West Cobb, and a lot of those places are nearby if you are in east Paulding. There are parks, libraries, the local YMCA, etc. Kennesaw Mountain isn't terribly far either; we go hiking with the kids there quite a bit. What kind of activities are your kids interested in?

You are moving from MA. to GA? I heard that Newton, MA. was one of thesafest cities in the U.S. to live! I only wish my husband and I had thecapital to move there! I hope you find a decent and safe area to live asfar as Acworth or any other place.
