? Jobs in Marietta, Mcdonough, Dunwoody, Decatur areas.
I know the economy stinks right now, but we will be relocation in June. I am a nurse so I can almost pick most areas to live and work. My husband is now coming with us, so I am trying to find the area with the most options for him. Right now he works for our city sewers dept using vactors and on the sewer camera crew. He used to work for streets, bridges and harbors driving plow for snow and salt trucks for ice control, some type of truck to vac. up the leaves, ect.. He also has experience in doing sheet metal work, installing new furnaces and putting in duct work. He has his class b cdl. He also has warehouse work history along with driving forklifts, loading and unloading semitrucks. Which of these areas would he have the best luck finding some type of employment.

Hi, I live in Georgia and have lived here most of my life. My husband lost his job in Oct. and we are now facing moving to Michigan. My husband has a bachelors degree and an MBA and he has had a tough time trying to find anything here. Usually we do pretty good here job wise but these are really tough times now. I do know from looking in the paper that there are truck driving jobs here and he could probably get something like that. Has he put a resume on monsters or anything like that?

Here in Georgia, the health care sector was expanding two months ago. Presently, I don't know the exact employment figures in the health care sector. However, working in the health care sector is a huge plus compared to other sectors of the economy.
You're planning to move here in June. That's going to change the equation quite a bit. Nationwide, 500,000 jobs are evaporating per month. That's probably going to accelerate in the coming months, so projecting the chances of finding a job in six months is very risky. By June, it's very likely the economy will be is much worse shape than it is now.
To be truthful, I think your husband would enounter some problems finding work. Government jobs at the state and local level are disappearing due to the state budget crisis. Construction jobs are not plentiful.
I would advise you not to move unless you have a job lined up. Our economy does stink and it would be foolish to move with no job on the horizon.

I don't plan on moving until I have a job for sure. As far as my husband, hopefully he can find something, if not right away he will go back to school. We can manage on one income with my rn wages for a while. Thanks for the input.

That's a good plan.
I would think you'll be able to find a job as an RN. But there are a lot of changes going on and nothing is for sure these days.
