I have been considering leaaving metro Atlanta because I can't find a job here. Sadly, I can't travel anywhere due to low funds. I need to know what is hiring here. My telemarketing job is very low paying and doesn't help anything.

First of all you should pay attention to your grammar and spellings. It should be "who is hiring" and "leaving" instead of "leaaving". Mistakes like these in your Resume will irk recruiters and interviewers.

That said, what are you skill sets? What kind of job are you looking for?

Have you used job sites like monster, careerbuilder, indeed, ajcjobs etc?

Let people know what exactly you are looking for and they will help you. I apologize if I offended you.

That was a typo. I can spell, I just type fast.

I have brief experience in retail and food service. I wonder what I can get with less than one collective year of job experience.

I have been using those websites. Sadly, I can't find much that doesn't require alot of experience.

I have heard that several companies are establishing call centers in the Atlanta area, as they anticipate that the Obama administration will penalize companies that are sending these jobs overseas. A friend of mine that had been laid off for a while just got a job as a supervisor at one of them.

I'm not sure what area you are in but here are a couple that I know for a fact that are hiring. First off Assurant Solutions (these are call center) through either First Pro or Focus Group(agencies) for customer service . Ryla is hiring for customer service in Kennesaw and are having job fairs as I was informed that they are opening a new center and want to hire 500+ individuals. Terminix in Gwinnett county off of Data Rd is hiring for customer service and finally Verizon is hiring but the training doesn't start until Feb 9th and the places I listed are all accurate as these were just last week that I spoke with someone there and was informed and I work for assurant so if you need any information Direct message me about that one. Good Luck!

Speaking of typos, what are YOU skill sets? (What are your skill sets? or rather, What SKILLS DO YOU HAVE?)

I think we can say that it's easy to type faster than our brains will process.

Anyhow, do you have an updated resume? It's always a great idea to have one just in case something does come up.
It's also a good idea to have a resume suited for a particular field you desire to work in. You can do a search on the type of resume based on what field you desire to work in on the internet. There are many websites that show examples of resumes based on a certain field. Temp Services are great ways to get your foot in the door and eventually be hired on somewhere. I have a couple of friends that have gotten hired on through temp services.

Good luck with your search!

Good catch ..Sweet Atlanta Peach.

Sometime last week there was a news story about Kohl's looking to hire 300 employees for their two new locations. One in milton (Right near Winward and Hwy 9) and another in canton I believe. Not sure if they are still taking applications. Good luck.

Don't Quit! Telemarketing sucks majorly....by stick with it, in the mean time keep searching. Just know that it is NOT YOU, right now, there are a lot things going on with these jobs/companies/employers many of them are afraid to lose money so they are not putting people on. Stick it out. It gets worst, before things get better! Things will get better.

What type of work would you consider? Even flipping burgers can bring in a little bit of money, especially if you end up staying with family to cut down on costs and such.

You probably have a lot of competition right now for almost ANY position, so it might also be a good idea to talk to friends, family, or anyone else you might know to let them know that you're looking for work. Assuming you haven't done that already.

When I was out of work, sometimes I found potential opportunities in the strangest places, and most of them found me, not the other way around.

When I got out of college, I spent a little over a year doing assembly line work making aluminum siding and gutters. Not a lot of money, but better than none...
