I do to, I think it is very important to reach out to any unemployed friends or family and just show support, may not be able to actually get them the money, but just being reassured that things will be get better can help a lot. Take it from someone that knows first hand... the job market is bad enough to make you give up hope after a while. I landed a contract gig luckily but im still nervous about gettin hired on after my contract is up the way things are going.

I saw a national unemployment rate break down by sector and it really depends on what sector your in. Banking, housing, manufacturing, hospitality, etc are not the areas you want to be in right now. But other sectors are very low, like 2-3% and I happen to be in that one of those areas.
