Hmm, in my husband's vernacular, a cougar would probably be big into Botox. He seems to think a cougar is what my grandmother would have called "mutton dressed as lamb". I thought rcsteiner was expressing support for women who age more uh, naturally and gracefully.

For all you know, though, my definition of "older" is 22 instead of 21.

I think some women I know in their 40's and 50's are hot, but of course I'm 46 and my own tastes have changed over the years.
Of course, my wife is almost 12 years younger than me. Heh.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't have a Botox injection if someone paid me $10,000. No way! I ain't having an injection like that.
It only smooths out a few wrinkles for a few months, and then you have to go back.
From what I've read, it's much better to have little touch ups with lasers. By doing that you can avoid major plastic surgery for quite some time.
According to the AJC breast enlargement surgery in Atlanta, for cosmetic/vanity reasons, is much less common these days due to the financial meltdown. As I recall, one plastic surgeon was profiled.
Reconstructive breast surgery is still being performed ( most health insurance companies pay for it ) on a regular basis.

I wasn't asking if you would consider such a thing for yourself...but was asking if you've had any personal experience with it. I think that Botox is like Novacaine for your face. Yes the results are temporary and I think that it is a great place to start, before considering more invasive options like putting a laser to your face.
Your going off topic by talking about reconstructive breast surgery. So to sum it up...you have no personal experience with Botox. And if someone did pay me $10,000 I would consider a few more things to have done!

Ok - let's keep it on topic AND not snap back at others, too. We're talking about cosmetic procedures here and not world leader elections.
Ok folks? Thanks.

Surely with all the BILLIONS of dollars of goopy stuff they sell for women out there, there's stuff that works as good as sticking needles in you. Go to Costco - I got my mom this gift set for Xmas that has some stuff brand named "Borgese" or something like that, that's supposed to be as good as the expensive stuff. She said it's really good, but I don't know the details of what she means by "good". Still, she liked it and wanted me to get more of it for her.

So did you get her this, just this past Christmas? And have you noticed anything different with her skin?
Yes they do sell all kinds of goopy stuff that women spend billions of dollars on...but is that all it is...goopy stuff? And does it really work or basically...just have the placebo effect?

My mom lives 500 miles away, so I haven't seen her face/skin to be able to tell if the stuff works or not, but, I can say she's a very analytical and picky person, and she's saying it's good stuff and asking for more, so it must be doing something she likes. Also, as a Costco member I get their monthly magazine and when I'm on the um, throne, reading it each month, I've seen stuff written about how women seem to be buying that brand up from them in droves because they like it. So I guess it's good. Apparently they're trying to get men to also try the face cream stuff, but so far no guy I know is biting... or admitting it. lol

Does this mean if you get Botox at Costco you have to get 300 injections?

You are correct. I have no experience with Botox injections. I was simply trying to give you my thoughts from a 'big picture' perspective. I know your question was very specific, but please do consider the 'big picture.' You should hear what Botox patients say, but also hear what other people may say. Keep an open mind.
I value my face and I certainly don't take it for granted. In fact, I take super care of my face, more than most people, due to two bouts with squamous cell facial cancer. My face looks great and there's no disfigurement ( except for a few very minor scars that are barely visable ), but I was very lucky the cancer was caught in time.
I just think you should consider the possible risks of injections of a foreign substance into your body. That's an answer you may not want to hear but I think you should think about this. Botox is a relatively new procedure, so it doesn't have much of a track record.
Through the years here in Atlanta, many women have had facial injections of various foreign substances, and the results have been less than satisfactory for a few of these women.
WXIA-TV, WSB-TV, and others, have run numerous stories about Mrs. Jones/Smith/Brown and her medical problems due to injections.
The only reason I mentioned breast enlargement surgery was in reference to less plastic surgeries being performed in Atlanta these days-- post-financial meltdown. I guess I was a little vague there.
If you're going to have a cosmetic procedure done, now is the time. A previous $500 Botox injection, in 2007, may be a lot less today. I would guess most cosmetic procedures are a lot less today.
Good luck!
