Default Mableton - 30126 - Oakdale Rd

Thinking of buying a small fixer upper on Oakdale just north of Bankhead...anyone familiar with that particular area...there are two new subdivisions, Oakdale Ridge is one, just beside it. I won't be living there but I want to fix up and rent or sell. I do not know Mableton at all.

I used to live in Providence, which is that subdivision across from the Publix on Veterans. Oakdale is an odd road, b/c it's obviously industrial, but then they started developing it back around 2000 or so. I know that the homes in those myriad of townhome developments are having a brutal time with resale, and I would be wary of living too close to that one particular plant (at the corner of Buckner and Oakdale) b/c the smell can be on-godly at times. I think, eventually, this road will be more aesthetically pleasing, but there is still a ways to go.

I drive through the area a lot, mainly heading from a fast food place on South Cobb to my house further west off Veterans Memorial, but I have no idea what it would be like to actually live there.

I *do* know the view of the Atlanta skyline from the top of the ridgeline there is quite pretty, though. I've stopped and tried to take pictures, but my ancient digital camera isn't high-res enough to do a nighttime skyline shot justice.
