You have access to everything in the Atlanta area including lakes, the North Georgia mountains, etc. What activities are you looking for? Yes, it is safe. We have experienced nothing that has worried us.

It is formerly rural, now a fast-growing, inexpensive suburb without much to offer in the arts or upscale retail. The closest movie theaters are probably in Austell and Hiram.

From New York, how did you select Powder Springs?

Powder Springs is a nice, semi-sleepy bedroom community of Atlanta. The schools are for the most part okay. The kids run the gamut--some great, some not so great, some terrible.

Big Box shopping can be found nearby on the East-West Connector in Austell or on HWY 278 in Hiram. Affordability runs the gamut as well--you can find a home in the low 100s all the way up to the 500s+.

I hope this helps!
