I moved into a much nicer area in Cobb county and guess what my neighboorhood has all types of colors in it. I even have a black neighbor. Shocking I know! Difference is that most of the people here, regardless or race have a vested interest in keeping this community from turning into another Clayton county. That was the intent of my original post!! Oh and if you had read more than my original post you would have seen that it wasnt just a pageant that caused me to move. It was years of experiencing first hand what can happen when undesirables move in. REGARDLESS OF RACE!

Actually once the OP describes the "type" of people, at the event he was attending, I immediately knew he was talking about class. I wouldn't want to be around those people either, regardless of race.

If you don't like cheesy people, stay away from pageants.

I believe the OP summed it up quite nicely. Many people were behaving in an uncivilized manner. What if it was the 'dark' folks who were behaving in this manner? Then what would you say?
I don't understand your point. The OP would have been just as disgusted no matter the race of the offenders. If they were 'dark' it wasn't the fact that they were 'dark' that he objected to. It was their behaviour!

If the OP was in the company of a room full of Bill Cosby's this would not be an issue. I as a black man know wholeheartedly the kind of people the OP is referring too. I shake my head when they are around in disgust too.
I grew up amongst them and hung around them when I was in my teens but grew out of that phase very fast. It's embarrassing. I went to to my daughters Christmas play over the holidays and one family that fits the OP description was present. I was saying to myself why do they have to act so extra and it isn't even the the young ones it's the grown ass adults that are the embarrassment.

Well said, NOC. Just curious. Was the couple who acting per the OP in your case black?

I Disagree

It would be different if he said they were disruptive at the pageant but all I see is that they were there. And it was directly correlated to the "white flight" comment.
You can make excuses for him if you want but if this weren't a message board more than likely id tell him where he can go. Im cooling though...

I disagree. The OP has clarified himself beyond belief. How can you still make a comment like this. The offenders were behaving in an uncivilized manner. Are you saying that you are ok with this kind of behaviour?

I see the disgust on many of my fellow commuters and I wish I or them had the courage to tell them to just shut up, but I would probably get shot. It is ignorant when people of different color label us all the same and flee the area. This is what turns decent areas into ghettos.
