Safe Area? 1460 East Cleveland Avenue East Point
Is anyone familiar with the area around 1460 E Cleveland in East Point? There is a new foreign language immersion Preschool there that I'm interested in. So far, it is the only one reasonbly close to where I live (south of Atlanta). I drove by the area and felt a little uneasy. I did look on a crime map and it was indicated as a high crime area. However, this same tool has indicated other areas that I'm both familiar & comfortable with as "high crime". So I really would like some feedback based on personal experience. Thanks.

My mom just bought a house over there and the area seems to be really nice in the daytime I havent spent the night over so I dont know after the sun goes down but I do know in the daytime it realitively quiet and you are on the main road so you might be a little safer

Will you be relocating to EP to have your child attend this school or will you and your child be commuting ? The East Point area has been experiencing positive growth in recent years. There are a number of threads here relative to EP relocation so if that is on your mind then I recommend you do a search to get more perspective on this region. I will say that Cleveland Avenue can be edgy after dark though the address of the "Little Linguists" school you reference is relatively close to Norman Berry and Cleveland, which was once home to the King Professional building that was home to physicians associated with nearby South Fulton hospital. It is one of the more active areas of this region so during the day you will probably be okay. I think this area is safer than the portions of Cleveland Ave that intersects Sylvan Rd and Metropolitan Pkwy. But in general your interests wouldn't take you into these areas.

Cleveland Ave- language school
No, I would'nt be relocating. Just commuting. I'm just concerned about placing ourselves in the "wrong place at the wrong time". I'm a little frustrated & surprised that there aren't more of these types of preschools south of Atlanta. I've found several others, but they are all north of Atlanta.
Thanks for your feedback.

I used to live near that building. You'd be fine.
