Obama voter here in extreme northeastern Cobb. I think LD is right, and so was the advice we received to look in east Cobb for good schools etc., when my family came here on a job transfer. The neighbors are pretty solidly conservative, it's true, but there are worse things!
I'm sure the masses of Cobb County are proud of your staunch Obama support in an otherwise conservative area.

Shoot, I just noticed I described myself as an Obama voter. That was just a thoughtless appropriation of the language from some other posts. Before anyone who reads my posts carefully protests, let me state I'm most definitely not a voter (due to lack of citizenship); I was merely a supporter. Really, this was not a slip revealing illegal activity at the polls.

As for my neighbors in NE Cobb (who doubtless prefer to think of themselves as free American individuals rather than as masses), I hope their love of this free country extends to tolerating my freedom of opinion. And that does appear to be the case.

lol, Rainy! Until I read this last post, I was going to ask you (either pm or with a post) if you had U.S. citizenship...

Herr_Brush is on a distinguished road
There are some cool neighborhoods in Dekalb, but it has one of the most corrupt excuses for a government in the state. You have to be very selective about public schools there.

Cobb has one of the best governments and has many good schools to choose from, but is much more vanilla suburban. Cobb is also a great place to be a religious nut.

If you are just throwing darts at each county (which your question might lead one to suppose), then your odds are better throwing a dart at Cobb. If you're not randomly selecting a location in each county, then try to ask a better question.

The days of the corruption are numbered, as our new CEO is cleaning house. The schools are another matter, sadly.

Good point. We are talking about counties here. That's a lot of territory to cover.

Keep in mind that just over 45% of Cobb County voters chose Obama, not McCain. That isn't exactly a small minority...
