During parent tours in late October, Pace claimed applications were ahead of historical averages. Who knows.

My relatives who work at elite private schools (none in this area), said that their applications are down. I can't see how it could be otherwise. Their endowments are down as well, so even people who would normally apply, but would need financial aid are being turned away. My guess would be that it would be easier to be admitted under these circumstances, but who knows?

Aren't admissions supposed to be need blind?

I have heard that applications at The Walker School are way down... they will more than likely be accepting almost everyone. No clue on any of the other schools. I would be shocked if the letters do not arrive on Saturday.

Darn -- my dream is to send DD to Walker..........we are currently at a very small, affordable Lutheran school -- she is finishing up K now which has been excellent but I am not sure if this is our long term solution or not (it is K-8 but I am so not impressed with anything I have seen above the 4th grade). I am wondering if I should bite the bullet and apply for/with her. Academcially DD is above average (so they say anyway) and I think she would excel at Walker.......financially however I would have to go get a real job for sure and that might mean ASP or whatever for DD. If I could find a decent job in this economy........

Good luck to all waiting to hear on applications!

We have gotten ours. We heard from every school and are happy with the results (about what we expected).

We're in for the grade level we wanted (only applied to one school). Now we have to come up with the tuition deposit by 4/16 (not an easy feat). Good luck to everyone who hasn't checked in yet.

Lemur, I'm sorry to hear that! You were just applying to AIS? What's your backup plan? I can't remember if you had said anything about that. Tell us if we can help with any advice.
