Commuting from Post Brookhaven to GSU..traffic???
Hi Y'all.
I will be joining GSU this summer and we are considering Post Brookhaven apartments as a possible target. Our concern is that traffic is going to be a real challenge to the GSU campus downtown or for that matter, GSU's Alpharetta campus, up north. What times of the day is traffic worse...both ways?
Would Post Brookhaven apartments be a good fit for us trafficwise or would it be better to live somewhere further southwards?

If you opted to take the MARTA rail line, it would be relatively easy. Post Brookhaven would be about 5 minutes from Brookhaven station. From there you could take the train to Five Points station (about 20-25 minutes). You could either walk to campus or take the east line to the GSU station one stop away.

...and then Post Brookhaven is very close to GA 400...which is a straight shot to Alpharetta.

I think the place you describe is a good find.
Like someone pointed out, the way to avoid traffic heading downtown would be to take the Brookhaven MARTA stop to the Georgia State MARTA Stop.
And the good thing about going to Alpharetta is that you'd presumably be going Northbound when traffic is bad Southbound and vice versa. Brookhaven's a good call.

I'd recommend MARTA, too. Georgia State station is the closest stop to the main campus (Sparks Hall, Kell Hall, General Classroom Bldg, Library, etc.), but if your classes are in the Aderhold Classroom Building your best bet is to get off at Peachtree Center Station (one stop before you get to 5 points station) which is two short blocks away from the Aderhold building.
