Hi There.....we are moving to Atlanta soon. My wife is a school teacher and she might apply for morningside elementary. Are there any good family oriented apartments in that area?

Every school district in metro Atlanta is either not hiring or barely hiring. If she needs to work for your family's financial survival, she needs to start looking now. (Forgive me if she has already.)

She needs to apply to every system in Metro Atlanta and keep in mind that the poorer the school and the system, the more likely that stimulus dollars might make a few teaching spots available. The City of Atlanta school system has been shrinking as a whole (though not the Morningside area.)

I was on Fulton County site yesterday and they had two teaching positions availalble for a school system of 75,000 or so students. Atlanta appears to have almost no teaching positions as well. DeKalb has positions posted, but someone recently told me that displaced teachers are simply being moved into most of those.

I am sorry if this is more information than you wanted, but at one of my kids' schools he had over 100 applicants for a pre-K teaching position within the first 36 hours of it being posted. Even for the hard to fill special ed position, he is getting at least 10 applications a day.
