Neighborhood pool open to public
Hello!
We are looking for a neighborhood in Kennesaw that has a pool and is willing to let us "buy" in for the summer. This is my third year looking and I thought with the way times are maybe neighborhoods are looking for extra money. Do you know of any neighborhoods in Kennesaw that will let non residents pay for the pool use during the summer? Thanks in advance.

Are there no public pools in Kennesaw? I mean, I know that because I live in the city and I have access to a lot of City of Atlanta public works that I might come off as rather off the wall/city slicker but all counties in GA have their own park system. When we lived in Gwinnett we used to take our son to swim at the pool at Bogan Park.
So, I would imagine there is some sort of public pool associated with the parks system there. Look into it!

So, what do they offer that a public pool doesn't?

I'd google neighborhoods you like to find their HOAs and then look for info on their sites. Or, drive around...some post signs with info for memberships.

Neighborhood pools are closer. The closest public pool is 25 minutes away. I have free access to a nice neighborhood pool in Marietta. It takes an hour plus to get home during the week. My son is in school year round so we don't go until later in the day. We were looking for a neighborhood pool closer to the house with less traffic. Just thought I would post to see if anyone here had heard of their neighborhood opening up to non residents. I have driven around and last year no one would. This year might be different so I will try again.

Ah, I see. So right now your options are a public pool a half hour away or a private one an hour away.
Hmmm...sorry, I can't help you since I am not familiar with Kennesaw.
I guess the only thing I CAN say is perhaps you can approach the president of the neighborhood association (or something to that effect - I am unfamiliar with how these sorts of neighborhoods work) and ask....

Do you live in Kennesaw? I'm unclear as to where you live, because I can't think of anywhere in Kennesaw that would be 25 min away from somewhere else in Kennesaw, except in a really bad rush hour, and most parts of Marietta (even East Cobb) don't take an hour to get to from Kennesaw.
As to your question, most pools in subdivisions are for residents who pay HOA fees which cover the pool and other common amenities. I guess it never hurts to find a subdivision that would be close to where you need/want to be and check with the HOA about whether or not they would let you use the pool for a fee. I've not heard of it being done, but you never know unless you ask.

I live in a >20 year old subdivision that has no pool, tennis courts or HOA. However residents have a standing offer to join the neighboring subdivision's swim/tennis for a fee. In fact, when we first moved down here we rented the house that we currently own, and as an inducement the landlord was throwing in the swim/tennis membership, so we did use the nearby neighborhood pool for the first couple of summers we were here, before we bought the house. When it's our own dollar, for the amount we swim we prefer to drive to the nice public pool in Roswell than pay over $500 (last I knew) for a season's swimming within walking distance.
Within a few miles of my home, in past years I've seen signs on two different subdivisions, advertising "swim/tennis memberships available". So apparently, some HOAs do go in for selling access to their pool.

Thank you for your help. That is how my parent's neighborhood in Marietta is- that is why I know it is not unheard of. Their neighborhood is $300 for pool use only. To me that is worth it for a very close pool that is clean and not crowded. I have yet to find a nice, clean public pool that isn't always packed. I am happy to hear there are some in Roswell and I will check them out. When I was googling HOA's for neighborhoods I drove by to look at I stumbled upon this forum and thought I would give it a try. So thank you everyone for your help. I will continue to my search.
