Default Newnan, Ga Relocating from Central Ohio

I am moving to the Newnan area late this summer with my ten year old. I am wondering if there are really BAD areas of Newnan that I should absolutely NOT look into? Any information on schools would be helpful as well if anyone has this knowledge. I have found many homes in the historic district and downtown(is this the same as the historic district?). Thank you for yor help!

Summergrove, White Oak and surrounding areas are nice. There are some beautiful homes in downtown Newnan. One great thing about downtown is they have a market on Saturday mornings and they do a Taste of Newnan in the spring and fall.
