Moving to sandy springs
I am moving to Atlanta area for a job in the Sandy Springs area. My work place is right inside the perimeter and I can get off at the Medical Center station to get to work. I would like to know if I can live in Roswell and commute to Sandy springs. Any suggestions??

Residing in Roswell and working in Sandy Springs is OK. However, from most places in Roswell it would likely not seem practical to include MARTA in your commute.

If you want to utilize MARTA, I would recommend Dunwoody. There you have easy access to three stations (North Springs, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody...the latter being only one stop away from Medical Center station). I've no idea why MARTA decided to call the Sandy Springs station by that name. It's much more oriented to Dunwoody and is nowhere near the heart of Sandy Springs.

Commuting from Roswell to SS
I think it would be better for you to reside in Sandy Springs because there is access to Marta there and Dunwoody Area. There are some affordable apartments in the SS area as well as condos and homes for rent. My recommendation is to search CL(craigslist) for housing and consider something very near Roswell Rd, Hammond Dr, or Abernathy Rd for those are all major roads in SS that have easiest access to Marta and very close to Medical center station.

It is a touch confusing since neither SS or Dun. train stations are near the 'center' of their respective areas(now cities) BUT the Sandy Springs station is actually IN Sandy Springs(Fulton County) and the Dunwoody(Perimeter Mall) station is IN the new city of Dunwoody(Dekalb County). Heck, everybody(almost) thought the North Springs station was IN Dunwoody.

^I thought Perimeter Mall was NOT part of the new city of Dunwoody... (I thought there was controversy because of the revenue of the retail stores for the county vs. city).

No telling what the Dekalb County folks did to preserve the tax revenue from the mall but the city limits extend to 285 to the south. Dunwoody POlice are patrolling the mall parking lot as a result.
