I looked at a home in that S/D over a year ago and I could see even then they may have some problems, good thing I decided not to return.

Does anyone think Woodstock or kennesaw would be a better area to move to instead of Douglasville Ga.?

Absolutely. Woodstock is very nice as well as Kennesaw. They both have good schools.

Acworth Beach and Lake Allatoona isn't the best but it will do when you are kind of stuck in the area during warm months. I personally don't go in the water. We do take our boat out and the children jet ski when we are around during the warm months.

I just moved a month ago from Fort Lauderdale to Douglasville. So far so good. Got a new 3/2.5 house with a two parking garage and a fenced yard for less than what I sold my 30+ year old decaying 2/2 apartment in FL.
I don't have kids so can't say if the schools look good or not. All I can say is that the town is very nice, with all the commodities. My neighborhood so far is very quiet. Traffic hasn't been an issue (although I work at Lithia Springs so don't know how it turns after that).

Well I used to live in Douglasville, i went back last month. OMG what a difference for the worse. I wanted to move back cause my brother is there but when I saw how high the crime index went way up i'm thinking kennesaw or Woodstock now. It's a shame what happened to that town. Way too many immigrants too.

I see a lot of comments from people who don't live in Douglasville and maybe never even been to Douglasville yet feel qualified to comment. I would like to set the record straight. I live in Douglasville and in Annewakee Trails and I LOVE it. I have no complaints. There is not a lot of traffic as people may speculate. We have a new HOA and they are really doing an excellent job on planning functions for the residents. The pool is never crowded despite what people think. The ammenities are great and its a perfect location because you can get to almost anywhere by street without even getting on the highway. I highly recommend Douglasville and Annewakee Trails
