Default I feel your pain

My husband and I are in the same boat. We just moved here last summer and we are in our 20's. We have had trouble meeting people too, and it is kinda frustrating coming straight from a college campus where fun things are always going on and it's easy to meet people. Anyways... we have found Marlow's and Miller's Alehouse to be fun places. We go out a lot, so we've tried lots of local places. Smokejack's is a great BBQ place too. Hope this helps, see you out there!

Ah, you're settling down - it looks like you've crossed that point in your marriage where it might be time to take that 'next step'. My wife and I had our first child when we were both 27. It's amazing the social outlets that open up for young parents and parents-to-be.

You're right that this area is very family-oriented. It's what attracted my wife and I to move to the area (we move in next month). We now have three kids, and we know we'll have plenty not only for them to do, but we know that there's a support system here for us that's lacking coming from the northeast.

Anyway, back to you - remember that the weather is getting warmer the nearby lakes (Lake Lanier and Allatoona Lake) will soon be bustling with activity with plenty of chances to meet people - look into taking up boating or fishing!

Well, to each his (her) own. I'm well into my 30s and still enjoying the Atlanta singles scene. If I wanted to settle down, I'd move to Omaha or somewhere, ... Not for another 10 years though, lol .....

Hi. My husband and I are also early 30s, and haven't lived the suburban life since we were kids. We have pretty much been city dwellers until now. We have no children ourselves, and don't plan on having any.

I am contemplating a job in Alpharetta. Since I would like to avoid a long commute if at all possible, I thought it would be best just to live in Alpharetta.

Other than having problems meeting people, what are some advantages/disadvantages of living in Alpharetta?

Thanks.
