After review, I have re-instated a couple of the comments that were starting to stray off topic and get "poking" at each other because they haven't gone overboard yet.

It needs to be fully stressed however, that topics like this seem to get folks going, and you need to stay on topic, or the thread will be closed if things continue to stray too much or bickering takes over. Do not insult others' opinions or intelligence. Discuss and debate rationally and keep it on the thread topic, PLEASE.

If the mayor has no say then what's the big deal? All a prospective mayor has to do is remain neutral on the subject and defer to state if pushed on the subject.

With all the gay people in Atlanta i dont see why it would be a problem to have same sex marriage

Why is this an issue in a mayoral race... mayors have no impact on that State decision... and considering that this is Georgia... it'll be a while before gay marriage comes here anyway.
