Default Carrollton dilemma

Hey all,

My wife has gotten into a doctoral program at the University of West Ga in Carrollton and we've decided to head out there, which means that I will need to find a job somewhere in the Carrollton radius. I come from a restaurant IT background but I also have Marine Corps experience and what I think is a solid set of transferrable skills. What I'm wondering is if any of you guys have an inside track on the job market in Carroll/Douglas counties. You know, something in the way of company names or general advice that's a little more focused than what I can find on a job board, in Chamber of Commerce handouts, or through Google searches. I'm willing to commute to Atlanta, but the further west I can stay the better.

Thanks in advance. Right now we're living in DFW and it can be hard to get a feel for a new place even though we've been out there a couple of times and look at a lot of stuff on the internet. And I'm a a little hesitant to just go out there and wing it, since we're constantly being bombarded with horror stories about the job market these days.

Why are you looking at just Carroll and Douglas counties ? Why not Coweta ? It's just as close to Carrollton as Douglas is.

I guess I was under the impression that there isn't much going on there. But if it has potential I'm all for Coweta too. Thanks!
