Default VaHi/Atlantic Station Apartments for a Newcomer

My husband and I (27 yrs old) may be moving to Atlanta in a few months. We would need to rent an apartment as close to downtown as possible (but also safe) while waiting for our house back home to sell. Any recommendations? We like the newness/parking availablity of Atlantic Station, but I'm worried that its full of college students. We like Va-Hi, but it seems that there aren't many apartments and that they are fairly expensive. Any words of advice would be helpful!

There are two separate apartments within Atlantic Station that are specifically targeted for college students. But given the rental rates, I doubt the regular apartments are full of college students. If you prefer the newer apartments they all appear to have similar rates so it really comes down to the area you wish to live.

Lots of C-D folks have used www.promove.com for their apartment search. It is a free service. The adjacent neighborhood to Virginia Highlands is Inman Park. Here is a newer apartment complex N. Highland Steel | Perennial Properties and additional information on the neighborhood can be found at www.inmanpark.org

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for your help! We liked Highland Steel, but we ended up liking Highland Walk (just up the road) a little bit more- we'll be moving there in July! We never realized how much there is to do in Inman park!

Very good! It is the same developer. I have had a chance to meet them as they developed Grinnell Lofts too (condos) and they have been a pleasure to work with.

I hope you enjoy the neighborhood as much as I do.

Welcome again!!!
