Best suburb for interracial teens
I am relocateing back to the atlanta, ga. area. Can anyone inform me of the best towns around Atlanta to raise interracial teenagers. We need schools that will have a great ratio of black and white students. Neighborhoods too. When there previously, the schools were all black, fine for my son who considers himself black but my daughter is the skin coloor and features of white. Moving soon, please help

actually my husband will be working in Morrow, kust south of Atlanta. I'm not real concerned (unlike him) on how far to drive. I've got to be sure my 2 children can be happy in the same place. We eill be renting at least the first year and like all, pricing is always a concen.

I recommend that you look at neighborhoods/suburbs in high school districts in Henry County, northern Fayette County, or Spalding County.
Henry County:
http://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/151610129144153340/lib/151610129144153340/All_High_Schools.pdf
Any of the high schools in Henry County would be good, but in particular I recommend Union Grove, Woodland, Eagle's Landing, Ola, Locust Grove, Stockbridge, or Luella.
Fayette County:
Sandy Creek High School, Tyrone, GA 30290
For Fayette County, I recommend that you look into the district of Sandy Creek High School.
Spalding County:
Griffin-Spalding County - Ga - School Zones & Maps
Both high schools would be good if you look into Spalding County-- Griffin High or Spalding High.
All of the aforementioned high school districts/neighborhoods/areas/suburbs are great locations in which to live considering that your husband will be working in Morrow...AND they offer the white-black diversity that you desire for your teenagers. You will find a variety of housing and prices in the areas as well.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I know she said that she didn't care about commute (she should, for her husband's sake...this is Atlanta...you've been warned, OP!), but Buford is so far away from Morrow.

Great advice, I just want to throw in that Dutchtown and Henry County High should be off the list. Before the kids are out of high school, these schools will be a lot like the schools they're leaving, and if you're looking for a change you'll be disappointed.

Thanks and that's why I didn't include Dutchtown and Henry County High in the "in particular" list...because they are not as diverse as the other Henry County high schools (but they do still have somewhat signficant white populations {more than 20%})...and they are decent schools.

Come to Fayette. Great diversity. People get along. Mixed race subdivisions. Blacks, Whites, Middle Eastern, Asian, and everybody else. Never seen anything like it!

I would like to add...
For Fayette County, also look into neighborhoods in the Fayette County High School district.
Welcome
This area will have the same characteristics as the areas listed in my previous post (variety of housing/prices, great commute to Morrow, white-black diversity).
Good Luck!
